Who am I? Becky Edwards, a lady entrepreneur whom, along with my husband Scott, has begun an adventure of taking our love of soap making to the next level where we can bring to everyone the experience of finely crafted soap.
Our soap story begins many years ago in the small town of Kennesaw, GA when our departed and beloved friend, Tim got us interested in making hand soap. Since that evening in 2003, with our first batch, we have been hand making soap ever since. Over the years, we have perfected our art of combining natural pure ingredients to form luxurious soaps without an expensive price tag.
No harsh chemicals or petroleum detergents are ever used in the making of our soaps. Yes, indeed LYE is used in the soap process, as it has been for thousands of years. Only pure soap can be created with this process, and as a result, no lye remains after the soap has cured. We do not use a hot process method to make soap, but rather a cold process. While this does require more of our time to create fine soaps, it is our goal to keep our carbon footprint to a minimum. We use all of the latest modern techniques of the cold process method to fashion only the finest of hand crafted soaps.
Only the finest and purest oils go into the various formulations of our soap. Be it the base oils that create long lasting bars with rich and creamy suds, or the best essential oils that are great for your skin, all of our bars are made with pride and care. We never put hidden or cheap elements in our soap.
Mixed and poured by hand, cut by hand, handmade right down to the packaging which is designed and created by me (truly, I get to exercise my complete range of creativity). This is the level of care and passion I take with each bar of soap in my shoppe.
So who am I? I'm a very passionate soap maker who takes great joy in crafting only the finest of handmade soaps; that is both art to experience and luxury to use.
And with this, I invite you to explore my world of great handmade soap.

It has been a great 7 years as Birdie’s Soap Nest but the voyage must come to an end. Birdie’s Soap Nest is closing its doors. A new chapter is beginning in our lives starting with the birth of our first grandchild and I don’t want to miss a minute of life with him. Scott and I are moving forward by selling our current home and beginning a new journey in a new home. Thank you to everyone who has supported me. I will be eliminating my current stock of soap and bath items. These items are available at Rooted Trading Company in Powder Springs until sold…
